Tana Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy(TNC) is a project funded by Syngenta foundation and it has been working in Upper Tana for the last 4 years to protect the Upper Tana River catchment through supporting sustainable land management practices, including: erosion control, riparian land protection, supporting cover cropping and crop diversification through water harvesting for dry season farming.
TNC plans to focus more on promoting sustainable agriculture practices focusing be in-field agronomy (soil testing, integrated soil fertility management, and pest control practices, particularly for horticultural crop farmers in Maragua Nginda and Kambiti wards ) and Kigumo and Kangema sub-counties of Murang’a county.
Real IPM in Collaboration with TNC we intend to promote and train farmers and extension staff on holistic integrated pest management ( IPM ) for horticultural farmers
