Design of Scouting Protocols
Growers need information about the levels of pests and diseases in their crops in order to make informed decisions about what actions they need to take. We can provide training on the design of crop specific IPM scouting methods for fruit, flower and vegetable crops.
The scouting system can either be a paper-based or a computerised system. Scouting data can be analysed to produce a weekly updated graph on progress of the IPM programme. Key performance areas include the ratio of beneficial to pest and the average number of pest per plant.
