Safe Use of Pesticides
Pesticides are poisons. All persons involved in the application of pesticides need to be fully conversant with how to use them safely. Real IPM is an accredited trainer in the Safe Use of Pesticides and can provide in-depth practical training to ensure that all those involved are able to carry out their roles and responsibilities without endangering themselves, others or the environment.
Course length: From 1 to 3 days depending on learning objectives.
Minimum qualifications of trainees: Form Four Leaver KCSE
Maximum number of trainees: 20 candidates.

Venue: Training can be delivered either at Real IPM’s Kichozi Farm in Thika or at the client’s premises, by arrangement.
Lunch: provided by venue host.
Topics covered: This is a practical course which teaches persons how to read pesticide Labels, calculate the correct amount of pesticide to apply to a crop, consider the Pre-Harvest Interval and Re-Entry Intervals, Personal Protective Equipment, correct spray techniques, health and safety issues, correct storage or disposal of chemicals.
