Sprayer Calibration

The effectiveness of crop protection interventions relies on proper application of both bio pesticides and chemical pesticides. Real IPM trainers are BASIS qualified and able to provide practical training on the calibration of spray equipment. This training can take place on the client’s farm using the client’s own equipment.

Course length:  2-days

Minimum qualifications of trainees:

Previous spray application experience. Good mathematical and English comprehension.

Maximum number of trainees:  20 spray applicators

Cost:  Contact Real IPM Training Manager for a quotation.

Venue:  Client to provide suitable training room venue near to a crop production site with reliable electricity supply; and well maintained spray equipment ready for use in practical sessions.

Lunch: Client to provide lunch and refreshments for all trainees.

Note:  At an additional cost, Real IPM can arrange a local training facility (at cost).

Topics covered:

  • Health and Safety.
  • Factors which effect the amount of spray deposited on the crop
  • Practical calibration of spray equipment.

A Spray Calibration Manual for the farm spray equipment will be included in the training programme.  This will serve as a valuable reference on-farm.
